Wakefield’s Summer of Culture 2010 Beam is delighted to exhibit the work of Wakefield-based artist & sculptor, Abu Jafar at Beam. Located in the grounds of Beam’s headquarters at the Orangery, this sculptural installation reflects Jafar’s response to the unique Grade II* listed site and the changing urban landscape around it, specifically the new Merchant Gate scheme. The work encourages the visitor to explore and appreciate the site in a new way. ‘HOPE’ also provides a delightful opportunity for Beam to connect to our neighbours at The Art House, where Jafar currently has a studio base.
