So the drive isn’t very long – but it’s very scenic. Apart from the obviously unscenic hotel in the background, this 5 minute journey through the surf across the spit provides fabulous views up and down the coast and out to Burgh Island (where the photo was taken from)

Highlights

Apart from the views there’s a reasonable pint waiting at the pub on the island when you get there.

Access

Park at the top of the cliff in Bigbury and then walk down to the beach. The sea tractor will pick you up at the bottom when the tide’s in.
