This area is an excellent oak/hickory timber, at one time boasting the states largest recorded swamp white oak. Part of the area is located in the Cedar Creek floodplain and during high water some of the lower lying areas are subject to flooding. This area is composed of good deer and turkey habitat and a great place to take a leisurely hike. The Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation assisted in the purchase of this property.
