Take Utah highway 44 north from Vernal for 9 miles and note the geologic age markers along side the road. Watch for a sign labeled “Curtis Formation” and a gravel road leading east to Brush Creek. Belemnites can be found by searching in small washes to the right of the gravel road about one mile from the highway and further along to the Forest Service sign past the cattle guard.
