About 14 miles south of Panguitch on highway 89 is the turnoff to Alton. Follow this road into Alton. Turn left on 100 south in Alton and follow to the end of the pavement to a dirt road on the right. Follow this road 1.4 miles to another dirt road on the right. Follow this road for 4.1 miles and park. You will be in a hill area between two gates. The hillsides on both sides of the road are littered with broken pieces of the nodules. Some digging should yield some larger and perhaps whole nodules.
