Features

This alpine hut belongs to the 10th Mountain Division Hut System. Nestled in the Gore Range North of Vail, this hut offers fantastic skiing and stunning views. From here you can see both Vail and Beaver Creek resorts simultaneously. The Eiseman boasts some of the best skiing of any of the 10th Mountain huts right out the door. The ridge line to the west of the hut above Red Sandstone Creek has premier glade skiing through stands of trees thinned by logging.

The Ben Eiseman also serves as a base camp for several fun tours to the surrounding peaks. Bald Mountain is a 5-mile round trip from the hut, as well as several unnamed peaks to the north and northeast.

Probably the nicest feature – especially late season – is the Eiseman’s giant front porch. It’s an excellent spot to eat dinner, drink beer, share the day’s adventures, and watch the sun set over the western Rockies. The hut features all the amenities you could need including a full kitchen, mattresses, two private rooms with queen beds, wood-burning heater & stove, bathrooms, and solar-powered lights for the nighttime.
