At Brora, Jurassic rocks are deposited from further upstream. These rocks lay around the mouth of the river and along the beaches at Brora. They can contain ammonites and shells.
Brora is split into two parts by the river. You can either collect from the South or North side of the river. The South side is normally covered up with sand and seaweed, so we would recommend visit the North side as the preferred option. From the south, Just after passing North over the river, there is a road to the Right. Take this road which will run over a railway bridge. Follow this road down and you will come to a large car park & golf centre. Park here. You will find steps down to the river, where you can walk along the mouth and the beach of Brora.
