The chalk at Beachy Head can contain some lovely fossils, unfortunately cliff falls are not that common and the chalk on the foreshore is often covered with algae. However echinoid’s are not uncommon.

Access

To access Beachy Head, it is best to access the beach from the steps at Beachy Head, you can park at the countryside park at Beachy Head near the lighthouse. Alternatively, there are steps at Birling Gap, sometimes though these are inaccessible due to winter storms. A third way is to park along St. Bedes School at Holywell kiosk by the side of the road just outside Eastbourne and walk down to the shore from here.
